Description:
PP-4020101 CN Cummins Marine Heat Exchanger Assembly
The PP-4020101 CN Cummins Marine Heat Exchanger is a copper-nickel shell-and-tube engine heat exchanger designed for closed-circuit (fresh-water cooled) Cummins marine diesel engines.
This unit is responsible for transferring heat from the engine’s jacket-water (coolant) circuit to the raw-water system. Engine coolant flows through the internal tube bundle while seawater circulates through the outer shell, removing excess heat before coolant is returned to the engine.
Accurate coolant temperature regulation is critical to prevent overheating, protect cylinder heads, liners, and gaskets, and ensure stable engine operation under continuous marine load. A degraded or internally corroded heat exchanger can lead to reduced cooling efficiency, elevated temperatures, and premature engine wear.
The CN (copper-nickel) construction provides superior resistance to salt-water corrosion, dezincification, and electrolysis compared with copper-brass units. The exchanger is fitted with sacrificial pencil zinc anodes to protect internal raw-water passages and extend service life in harsh marine environments.
Manufactured to OEM dimensions and connection layouts, the 4020101CN is a direct-fit replacement for Cummins 4020101 where hose sizes, mounting arrangement, and port orientation match the original installation.
Suits Cummins Marine:
• Cummins B-Series and C-Series marine diesel engines
• Engines fitted with closed-circuit (fresh-water cooled) systems
• Applications using remote shell-and-tube heat exchanger assemblies
